Teaching Credentials

Majors in mathematics interested in multiple subject or single subject credentials are referred to the College of Education section of this catalog for a description of teaching credential programs. Students may fulfill the subject matter prerequisites to enter a teaching credential program to obtain a single subject teaching credential in mathematics by completing the Mathematics Subject Matter Preparation Program described in the Undergraduate catalog.


Course Descriptions


MATH 5950 Selected Topics in Mathematics (1-5 units)
(Topics to be specified in Class Schedule) Development of a selected branch of mathematics. Topics vary each term. Different topics may be taken for credit. Prerequisites: Postbaccalaureate standing and consent of instructor.

MATH 5980 Individual Study (1-4 units)
For qualified postbaccalaureate students in need of advanced and specialized study. May be repeated for a total of 6 units. Prerequisites: Postbaccalaureate standing and consent of instructor.

MATH 6980 Individual Study (1-4 units)
For qualified postbaccalaureate students in need of advanced and specialized study. May be repeated for a total of 6 units. Prerequisites: Postbaccalaureate standing and consent of instructor.
