Sam Pereira was born and raised in Los Banos, California, where he teaches and writes poetry.  He received a BA from Fresno State and an MFA from the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop.  His latest collection of poetry, A Café in Boca, was published by Tebot Bach in 2007.  He will be reading in the lounge of the University Library at 2:30 on Wednesday, February 27th, 2008.  As always, admission is free and open to the public.

Valley Voices is a visiting writers program sponsored by the English Department at California State University, Stanislaus.  The series grows out of a desire to expose the students and surrounding community of CSU Stanislaus to the rich tradition of writers who live in or have been inspired by the San Joaquin Valley, though we are interested in writers and artists around the country whose work has a regional focus.  Tony Perrello, Stephanie Paterson, Jesse Wolfe, and Susan Marshall coordinate the program, so feel free to contact any of them with suggestions or comments, or click here to leave us a message.
