| Requirements for Drivers |
Drivers must have completed a Defensive Driving Course Registration Form.pdf and have a good driving record in order to drive a motor pool vehicle. State vehicles may only be operated by State employees and those who have been made a "volunteer employee" of the State (through the department represented by completing a Volunteer Identification Form.pdf to carry out University business.
When a driver picks up the vehicle, the driver must inspect the body for dents, scratches, or other damage, and list any damage on the form provided in the office. This is very important, since it prevents your department from being charged for damage you didn't cause. Please allow time for the inspection when you pick up the vehicle.
Once in the vehicle, adjust the seat, mirrors and steering wheel (if applicable) so the driver can operate the vehicle comfortably and safely. Drivers are responsible for recording all mileage in the log book provided. All passengers must wear seat belts.
Facilities Services strives to keep its motor pool vehicles in safe and good condition. If the driver experiences problems with any vehicle, please complete the questionnaire in the log book, and return it with the vehicle. |
 |
| Use of State Vehicles |
| Motor pool vehicles are for the use of university faculty, staff, student assistants and authorized volunteers on State business. Campus vehicles may not be leased, loaned, or rented to an auxiliary organization. |
