The Office of Student Leadership and Development is committed to enhancing the learning environment at CSU Stanislaus.  To facilitate this mission we provide students with co-curricular learning and leadership development opportunities.

Some of these programs include: Late Night Stanislaus, The Student Leadership Program, and The Edge Leadership Conference.

Student Leadership Program

The objective of the Student Leadership Program (SLP) is to prepare California State University, Stanislaus students for leadership roles within the community and beyond. SLP provides a learning experience designed to identify and foster individual leadership potential and civic responsiveness in students. The Student Leadership Program combines effective leadership training with integrative service skills training to equip students with the essential tools needed to meet the personal and societal challenges of the new millennium.

ASI Book Exchange

The ASI Book Exchange helps students defray the cost of textbooks by providing students with an opportunity to buy and sell books directly to one another. Students price the books at a lower cost than the used books in the campus bookstore. The book exchange is open at the beginning of each semester.

Late Night Stanislaus

The LNS program is typically offered Friday evenings from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., the program provides students the opportunity to participate in activities on campus that are fun and safe. Past activities have included comedy shows, concerts, dances, movie nights, sports tournaments, casino nights, etc. The program has been well received and has developed a faithful group of participants. The game room in the University Student Union is open during Late Night Stanislaus program hours with pool, ping-pong, and other games. Food and non-alcoholic beverages are also served free of charge to students throughout the night.

The EDGE Leadership Conference

The 2007 EDGE Leadership Conference hosted by CSU, Stanislaus and the Target Corporation will offer a wide variety of exciting conference sessions of interests to every student interested in sharpening their leadership skills. The conference will be open to all students from four-year higher education institutions; conference workshops will be from a wide variety of interest to any student and at a very LOW registration fee. Our keynote speaker will be Delatorro McNeal, nationally recognized speaker and author.  If you can please encourage your students to attend we will have topics of interest pertaining to leadership development, career development, risk management, personal health and wellness, Greek Life leadership and so much more.

Warrior Day

Warrior Day is an event sponsored by ASI and is a long-time campus tradition. Warrior day includes food and games. The main attraction on this day is the concert, which attracts a crowd of thousands.

Student Leadership Awards

Each May, the Division of Student Affairs hosts a ceremony honoring outstanding student leaders and organizations. Presented at this event are awards for the outstanding Greek, academic, special interest and cultural student organizations, the Student Organization Award of Excellence, the President's Trophy for philanthropic service, the club advisor of the year, the Carol Burke Memorial Award, the Miriam V. and John L. Keymer Memorial Award, and the Outstanding Student Leader of the Year Award.
