Biography:
The small town of Ripon contains most of my life. Almost my entire family lives in the area and I have attended school there since kindergarten. Even the house I live in is central to family; my great grandma lived in it. Ripon has grown into a mostly commuter city and the schools have been changing rapidly, so the one constant has been that house and the animals around. When I was little it was located between a dairy and a chicken ranch. Now it is between a dairy and a former chicken ranch with lots of other animals. Floating for most of my life, I did not really know what I wanted to do until senior year in high school.

Why did you choose CSU Stanislaus?
My sister has attended CSU Stanislaus for the past 3 years, so I was always hearing good things about it. I also had many occasions to visit and see the campus. When I talked to my counseling office about college and scholarship applications they informed me of the President's Scholarship here. When my responses came back from all of the colleges I applied to, CSU Stanislaus seemed to have the best options for me.

What advice would you give a prospective student?
Be prepared to learn a great new system for budgeting your time (and your money). It really is a whole new world, but great if you enter it prepared.

What has been your favorite academic or student life experience so far?
I really enjoyed the Octoberfest here. I had not heard much about it, but it was lots of fun. Getting to feed the ducks everyday is also entertaining.

What is your career objective?
Veterinary technician, possibly a vet

What clubs, sports, and activities have you participated in?
Since I did concert band in high school I wanted to play here, so I joined symphony band because I heard about their fall concert. The whole experience was awesome, especially with all of the community people involved.

Who is your most influential personal and/or University mentor?
So far it is difficult to say, however if I had to pick one now I would say my chemistry discussion professor Dr. Scott Russell. He really makes everything seem more clear and takes the time to talk to the students.
