Biography:
Hi, my name is Marisol Ruiz, and I am currently a senior at Stan State. I'm from Stockton, but I'm currently living off campus in Turlock. I am a business major and communication minor. I love to dance and sing in my spare time and I'm always up to learning new things and meeting new people.

Why did you choose CSU Stanislaus?
I chose CSU Stanislaus because I really liked everything about the school, from the small class sizes to the beautiful landscape. I also liked the fact that it was away from home but not too far to where I can visit every weekend.

What advice would you give a prospective student?
I would advise prospective students to live on campus. I've lived on campus since my first year. It has been a great experience. It gives you an opportunity to be more involved with school and meet new people.

What has been your favorite academic or student life experience so far?
I really enjoyed living on campus and being involved with intramural sports. My job as a University Ambassador has also been a great learning experience because I have learned a lot more about my school.

What is your career objective?
Once I graduate, I would like to move down South and work in the field of advertising and work for a respected interior design company.

What clubs, sports, and activities have you participated in?
I was a lot more involved my freshman year. I've been in intramural sports such as volleyball, softball, and indoor soccer. Currently I'm not in any sports because time doesn't allow it. My time is spent between classes, work, and making time to do my homework and still manage to have a social life.

Who is your most influential personal and/or University mentor?
Steve Graham. He helped me so much with the admission process and has always kept his door open to assist me when needed.
