Real Times/Real Life
Real Times/Real Life was developed, piloted and evaluated by more than 1,000 career practitioners and clients from coast-to-coast across Canada and the United States. Real Times/Real Life has curricula for third graders through adulthood. Participants leave "baggage" behind (fears and doubts, low self-esteem, pessimism, sense of failure) and adopt realistic but safe roles from which they view themselves and their futures in positive, hopeful and constructive ways. Activities and materials are easily linked to local community resources and realities.
Participants see how their knowledge and skills already gained are directly related to future life and work roles, and how expanding these in purposeful ways opens doors to new opportunities. Participants explore a range of teamwork, problem-solving, decision-making and communication skills, and develop effective work habits in multiple life/work roles.
