Mission Statement
In support of the University mission, the Writing Center provides free one-on-one and small group tutoring to writers from all disciplines, at all levels of proficiency, with the purpose of encouraging dialogue among writers and helping students become competent writers. We work to accomplish our goals by providing an additional connection between students and instructors, by creating a supportive atmosphere free of judgment, and by providing peer tutors who are experienced with academic writing.
Our undergraduate and graduate tutors are evolving writers who, through experience and training, continue to develop their abilities as tutors and writers. Rather than editing papers, our tutors share strategies and experiences at each stage of the writing process to help writers with their academic endeavors. |
