Post Student Assistant Positions
(On-Campus, Non-Work Study Jobs)
Student employment job opportunities (student assistant positions) are posted online for students to access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via MonsterTrak, our online job posting partner.

What does this mean for the campus department/office?

  • You will still complete a Student Employment Services On-Campus Student Assistant Job Posting Form.pdf (Form 101) to advertise your job opportunity and return it to the Career Services Center (MSR, Suite 245 - See Map) (this form is accessible online via the link above or by calling us to have one faxed or mailed to you).
  • We will then post the position online and in the Career Services Center for students to access. Unit 11 jobs will be posted on the Unit 11 page.
  • Students will review jobs and come directly to your office to apply (they do not receive a referral form from Student Employment Services).
  • You conduct interviews with applicants and complete Form 105 with the candidate you hire.
  • Form 105, the I-9 form, CSU Form SSA-1945 and Student Payroll Action Request must be delivered to the Career Services Center for review and signature, and thereafter to the to Payroll for processing by your hired student with their identification. Students with Form 105-R11 may proceed directly to the Faculty Affairs Office with the forms mentioned above. The student should be prepared to show identification as proof of employment eligibility.

This streamlined process provides improved access to job opportunities for students and allows you to fill vacant positions in a timely manner.

Rehired Student Assistants
If a Student Assistant is rehired for the next academic year, the following conditions must be met:

  1. The job has not changed from the original posting (last academic year), including the number of openings.
  2. The student being hired must have worked during the previous academic year and not have had any breaks in employment since being hired in the last academic year.
  3. The hiring area has verified student enrollment status by I.D. card. Students enrolled in Extended Education courses only do not qualify for student employment.

If these conditions are met, Form 105-REHIRE is to be completed and delivered to the Career Services Center to verify that the job was posted the past academic year. Form 105-REHIRE is available on the Student Employment Services page of the Career Services Center website, or in the Career Services Center. Note: Students hired under Unit 11 may not be rehired using this form. Steps 1 – 7 are to be followed.
