Baccalaureate Candidates

Academic Regalia

All candidates for graduation may obtain academic regalia from the University Bookstore from April 2 through May 31.

(PRE-ORDERING IS NOT REQUIRED) Gold honor cords will be issued to students graduating Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude or Summa Cum Laude.

Personalized graduation announcements may be purchased at the University Bookstore.

Class Rings

Graduation class rings can be ordered through the University Bookstore or from the Balfour representative.

Eligibility

All students who have an approved Application for Graduation and completed all course work in the Fall of 2007, Winter of 2008, Spring of 2008, or will complete their course work in the Summer of 2008 are eligible to participate in the 2008 Commencement.

Parking

Free parking will be available on campus for Commencement. Public Safety officers will direct guests to the most accessible lots. To avoid being ticketed, please do not park in unauthorized spaces or in off-campus lots. Designated "Handicapped Parking" (See Campus Site Map) spaces are available for automobiles displaying the appropriate placard. Shuttle service from the parking lots to the amphitheatre will be provided for physically challenged guests.

Photographs

Chappell Studios, Inc. will take professional photographs as graduates cross the stage and receive their diplomas. Within one week following Commencement, each graduate will receive in the mail a free color proof and may purchase additional photos at a reasonable cost. Proofs can also be viewed online. Individual orders will be processed within 14 days of receipt.

Procession Assembly

Candidates for graduation
from the following Colleges: will meet Friday, May 30 at 7:00 a.m. at the FRONT OF BIZZINI HALL (formerly the Classroom Building) with academic regalia, to prepare for the academic procession. Commencement programs and processional information will be provided. (Bizzini Hall See Building #2 on Campus Site Map)

Weather

The Commencement ceremony is held outdoors. The weather is normally sunny and very warm. Dress in cool, comfortable clothing, bring hats and water. Umbrellas are not permitted as they obstruct the view of the ceremony. Inclement weather is possible, so please prepare accordingly and remain flexible if a delay or postponement is necessary.
