This course offers educators a hands-on, in-depth view of the multigenre writing experience. Learn how projects with real choices, varied roles, and purpose-driven tasks can transform writing and learning.

| Dates: |
Five three-hour, after-school workshops with specific dates and times to be determined.

| Cost: |
$3,900 for 15 hours of professional development over 5 dates. The fee includes presenter fees, text book, supplies and duplication costs. If more than 35 participants attend, the fee will increase.
Participants who attend and participate in all 15 hours may register for 1 unit of CSU Extended Education Credit at the cost of $40.

| Content: |
Participants will develop a Multigenre Research Project investigating a single topic, organizing that research and going beyond the boundaries of the traditional report writing by using non-traditional genres. Participants will learn how research with real choice, varied roles and purpose-driven tasks can transform writing and learning. Various writing strategies will be demonstrated and student samples shared.
