How do I forward my STAN WebMail to another email account?

·        You may forward your STANMail to an outside email account if you wish, however it is NOT RECOMMENDED!

·        Those who forward e-mail from their official address to another address do so at their own risk.  Having e-mail lost as a result of redirection does not absolve the account holder from the responsibilities associated with the communication sent to their official e-mail address.  The University is not responsible for handling of e-mail by outside vendors or unofficial servers.  Privacy of confidential information may be compromised by forwarding mail from an official e-mail account.

Do I get any protection from Spam or Viruses?

·        This new email system now checks all incoming emails against an updated list of recently known Spam and Viruses.  If the message is a known Spam message it will place a Spam Rating in the subject line.  If the email contains a virus, the system will place PMX:VIRUS in the subject and will remove the harmful attachment from the message.

·        There is an option in the webmail to have spam messages bounced back to the sender.  DO NOT SELECT THIS OPTION!  This will only set you up to receive more spam by alerting them you have an active email account.
