For all other tests, refer to the appropriate program's registration bulletin.
Acceptable ID for the EPT/ELM administered at CSU Stanislaus
All candidates who have pre-registered to take a test at CSU Stanislaus are required to present a valid form of government-issued identification bearing the same name in which the candidate has registered. Examples of acceptable identification are:
- A valid photo-bearing driver's license
- A photo-bearing, DMV-issued identification card
- A valid passport featuring a recent photo that looks like you
- A valid green card featuring a recent photo that looks like you
- A photo-bearing military identification card
NOTE FOR STAND-BY OR "DAY OF TEST REGISTRATION" CANDIDATES:
Candidates who are attempting to test stand-by must have one of the five identification cards listed at the top of this page; a signed DMV receipt is insufficient for stand-by testing purposes. Therefore, we suggest that you apply for your identification at least four to six weeks in advance of your test date.
Be aware that a student ID card alone is not an acceptable form of ID for the purpose of taking tests.
If you have pre-registered and you do not have one of the above forms of identification, you must have an identification letter from your school official, on school letterhead, as well as two other forms of identification. Ask your school principal or counselor, who must be unrelated to you, to make an identification letter for you. This must:
- Be on official school letterhead stationery
- Include the candidate's name and a full physical description (i.e., height, weight, hair color, and eye color)
- Feature a recent, recognizable photograph on which the school's official seal is impressed so that it partially overlaps the photo. Alternatively, the principal's or counselor's signature should be written in such a way that it partially overlaps the photo without concealing the image. The photo may be from a snapshot, school photographer, yearbook, or school identification card, etc., but it must be attached securely onto (not stapled on a separate sheet of paper) the school stationery. (See sample letter.)
- Feature the name of the school official, legibly typed or word processed, and his/her original signature (no copies or stamps please)--in ink
- Feature the student's original signature--in ink. (Letters without signatures - school official and the student's - will be considered incomplete and not acceptable for identification purposes.)
Candidates will be asked to sign the letter again in the presence of a member of the testing staff. Letters will be retained and forwarded to the testing program office.
Be aware that letters of identification that do not meet the above standards may not be accepted for identification purposes, and candidates will not be admitted to the testing center.
Without government identification, you must bring with you a proper identification letter ALONG WITH TWO of the following:
- School ID card
- Signed social security card
- Signed DMV receipt for driverís license or DMV ID card
