Web Courses
Blackboard and eCollege are web-based course management systems that support student and instructor interaction and collaboration through the posting and sharing of documents, external links to web resources, and threaded discussion boards along with other useful communication tools.
- Hybrid
Uses Blackboard to share course materials and enhance learning by participation in threaded discussions. Some class meetings may be replaced by online class activities. Your instructor will tell you if there is a Blackboard component to the class.
Fully Online
Uses eCollege for all class activities. Some faculty may choose Blackboard for their fully online courses.
How do I find a web course?
If you are looking for a course in your discipline or field of interest, the Class Schedule will note which courses are fully online.
If you are shopping around for web courses, go to the Class Schedule and click on the eLearning(.pdf) to locate our current offerings.
Televised Courses
If you live in or near the communities of Stockton, Merced, or Sonora, you may choose to take courses via television at our regional sites. Some courses are also available via cable TV in the Turlock and Modesto areas. The Class Schedule will note which classes are televised.
Extended Education
Extended Education offers programs for alumni, community members, teachers, and individuals changing careers, businesses, school districts, and professionals wanting certification or the latest training. |
